A Christmas present from Gadelius to the children of Iitate, Fukushima
The people of Iitate Village, Fukushima Prefecture, were relocated from their homes after the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Damage to the Fukushima Dai-1 nuclear power plant resulted in the declaration of an exclusion zone in the area.
The Gadelius Group has continued to support Iitate village since the disaster, donating high-performance air cleaners capable of capturing radioactive materials, as well as electric pianos for the town's relocated kindergarten and primary school.
In December of 2013, Gadelius staffers visited the Iitate schools, bringing with them Santa Claus and his helpers to present gifts to kindergarten and primary schoolchildren.
What was the Gadelius Group's thinking behind the Christmas presents?
